The children have been out and about again this week, exploring the local area. With the last of the Year 2 visits to Pizza Express and the Year 1 walk to Rookery Gardens. There are some super photos below of Year 1s exploring the gardens looking for signs of autumn and of the Year 2s making pizza, and by all accounts getting covered in flour!
Everyone should have received my email about the Parent Governor election. I would like to again thank all the nominees for their time and interest in the role and as a result of the ballot, Mrs Salli Slyfield was elected as parent governor. At the beginning of term, Mr Austin Dorsett was appointed as an associate governor. I would like to welcome them both to the Governing Body of Marlow Infants.
As we approach the end of the half-term, the children are getting very tired. It will have been almost 7 weeks for the Key Stage 1 children. They have done very well and are still approaching their learning with enthusiasm, but you can tell that they are in need of a break. Hopefully a restful weekend will give them a boost to take them through to the end of next week!

Mini Marathon Challenge - Next Week
All the children are very excited to be taking part in our 3rd School's Mini Marathon next week! Every child (along with the adults) will run, walk, hop or skip 2.6 miles over the week. There's no need to send in separate clothes or shoes for this.
This is quite a challenge for all of us, and we would love you to help us raise money for local families via One Can Trust.
Please sponsor your child(ren) on ParentPay and donate to this worthy cause!

Parent Consultations
Next week, we are holding our parent consultations and these will take place in the Key Stage 1 classrooms. Entry to school will be via the side gate (between the school bungalow and the school building), and along the Butterfly outside area to the Year 2 outside door.
Most parents have booked an appointment now (if you haven't, there are some slots still available).
Appointments are 10 minutes long and Teachers will be sharing with parents/carers how their child(ren) have settled into the new school year, where they are in relation to the expected standards for this time of year and some next steps for their learning.
The children's books will not be out for parents/carers to look at this time, but you will have the opportunity at the next consultations in the spring term.

NEW School Clubs!
We are delighted to be adding 2 free school-led clubs starting w/c 31st October, as follows:
Bible Bricks Club - Thursday Lunch - Y1 + Y2
This club will be led by Mrs Howarth and Revd Kat Page from All Saints Church and we are opening 10 spaces. The children will be using Lego to retell Bible stories, and the focus after half-term will be the Christmas story.
Maypole Dancing - Thursday @3:15 - Y2 only
The newly added Maypole Club will be run by Mrs Reynolds after school. We need to have 12 children to make the club work and the club will run for the rest of the academic year with the same children. Maypole club members learn to plait the ribbons and rehearse so that they are ready to perform at the May Fayre and during the Open Afternoon in July!
Click here to register your child(ren) for the new clubs.

Christmas Fayre - 26th November 2-5pm
** HELP NEEDED PLEASE**
We are busy planning and organising what is shaping up to be a fabulous CHRISTMAS FAYRE. Father Christmas is coming, and we have lots of games, stalls and crafts planned. The children will be singing in their year groups and the event will finish at 4.30pm with 'carols by torchlight' accompanied by a small brass ensemble. We would love for you to come and join in with all the fun we have planned.
We would also really appreciate you considering whether you may be able to help with the event in some way:
1. Volunteer to help on the day either generally or running a stall with some friends - we have a list of stalls we are planning to have so can allocate you and give you help/details about running, but we need volunteers!
2. If you or any of your family/friends have a business/hobby and would like to have an external stall pitch, we would welcome you to get in touch. We are offering external pitches for £20.
