With the start of Advent yesterday, the countdown to Christmas has started in earnest. The worship leaders were magnificent at yesterday's Advent Service at All Saints and, not only shared what Advent is as well as the meanings surrounding the Advent Wreath, they also talked about how it can be such a busy time, that we lose sight of why we have Christmas. This was the first trip to All Saints with school for the Reception children, and they walked there and back with such energy! Surprisingly, as Mr Creese told me, Butterfly class walked quicker on the way back, than on the way down - and it is up hill most of the way back. All in all the service was a wonderful family occasion and uplifting too.
The Christmas decorations are up in school, and we are beginning to feel rather festive now! The nativity practices have started, and the children are beginning to get excited - there were huge gasps at lunchtime yesterday, when they saw the Christmas tree up in the hall with its twinkling lights.
Last weekend, I could not believe how busy the Christmas Fayre was - so many visitors and families helping to raise money for the school. I would like to thank the PFA for all their efforts in organising the event - I know there was a lot of work that went on behind the scenes to help it run so smoothly. An amazing profit of around £4,900 was made which is incredible so thank you to everyone who played a part in this. The money raised will make a huge difference to the school.
