This week, the children have been completing their autumn term topics, and it has been brilliant to see the culmination of their learning. They have made so much progress since September, and we are all very proud of how hard they have worked.
In school worship over the last 7 days and in RE lessons this week, we have been learning about the Jewish Festival of Hanukkah and some children reenacted the story that is at the root of the festival to the rest of the school. The children have also learned some of the traditions and practices associated with Hanukkah. On Wednesday, we even had a quiz about some of the facts and special words that had been learned.
Today, we welcomed the Year 3 children from Holy Trinity Junior school who came to watch the Key Stage 1 Nativity Dress Rehearsal. It was lovely to see all the familiar faces, and i am pleased to say that they thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Next Friday, our Year 2 children will be visiting Holy Trinity to see the Year 3s perform their Chrisitngle!

Strep A: Bucks Health Agency Update
|
|
We have all been deeply saddened to read about the tragic deaths of six children across the country from invasive Group A Streptococcus (iGAS) infections. Group A “Strep” is a bacteria which often lives harmlessly on our skin but can also cause a variety of illnesses, most of them mild and non-invasive. Scarlet fever is a common type of Group A Strep infection, which is currently circulating at higher levels than is usual for the time of year. Symptoms of scarlet fever can include:
- sore throat
- high fever
- a pink or red rash with a rough sandpapery feel
If your child develops any of these symptoms then please keep them at home until they are feeling better. If you have any concerns, contact NHS 111 or your GP for further advice. The vast majority of childhood infections currently circulating are mild and easily treatable, and more severe infections (such as iGAS) are extremely rare. Buckinghamshire Council is working closely with schools and early years settings to ensure that all our children continue to be able to learn and develop in safe and healthy environments.

Nativity refreshments
The PFA will be serving hot drinks and mince pies (for a small donation) before each of the nativity performances next week, so please bring along some change if you'd like some refreshments. If you're able to bring your own reusable cup that would be great to reduce the amount of waste we create.

Christingle making ** Helpers needed please**

Each year the PFA volunteers make these Christingles for the children the night before - all 180 of them!!
