We have had a fabulous last week of term, and we certainly haven’t let the miserable weather dampen our spirits!
You will see below everything we have been up to. From our participation in the Great Big School Clean on Tuesday to the Year 1 Celebration of Indonesian Culture yesterday.
The school team have done a wonderful job in providing these opportunities for the children as they have done throughout the term.
At the Easter Service on Wednesday, not only did we manage to dodge the rain on the walk to and from All Saints Church, we were able to celebrate Easter as a school family. The worship leaders bowled me over with their confidence and organisation and the singing, recorder playing and dancing made for a joyful experience. I would like to thank Mrs Phillips for her help in the preparation of the service and on the day.
Speaking of Mrs Phillips, I am sad to say, that she will be retiring at the end of the summer term. She has been part of our school life for nearly 20 years and has had a huge impact on the pupils and the school. Her musical knowledge and skills coupled with her experience of teaching infants (not to mention her patience when teaching the recorder group) will be sorely missed.
Another member of the team leaving at the end of the summer term is Mrs Burkitt. She has decided that she would like to spend more time with her family and so has made the difficult decision to resign from her role as Assistant Headteacher. Mrs Burkitt has worked with me as Assistant Headteacher for almost 5 years. Her expertise and support will be missed by us all, and she will be sorely missed.
I would like to wish you all a very Happy Easter and hope that you have a wonderful break.
Mrs S Reynolds
