We have had a wonderful Coronation Day today. The children have loved the range of activities that had been prepared for them; from making crowns to creating portraits of the King – it has been a very royal occasion.
Our ‘street party’ had to take place indoors. The weather forecast was telling us that we were almost certainly going to be rained on if we set up for lunch outside. We managed to fit all the children into the hall to eat at the same time, and they had a wonderful time, but typically the sun came out as they all sat down to eat! Our wonderful midday supervisors did a great job, making the event a successful one, and I would like to thank the team of parents who came in to help too. You can see some photos of the day in the news story below.
The MUFTI day saw lots of different variations on red, white and blue and the PFA committee had a good number of prizes for the My Fayre tombola. Next week the donations requested are second hand toys on Wednesday and cakes on Friday.

Sharing Your Views - Reception
As part of their commitment to the continuous cycle of school improvement, the Governors of Marlow C of E Infant school are reviewing the process for pupils starting school in Reception. This will cover everything from open days, admissions and induction. We’re looking for parents to take part in a focus group, in particular families who are new to the school, but any Reception parent is welcome! It will just be a one-hour session with a daytime or evening option depending on what works best for you.
This is a great chance to provide feedback to the school and have an input on shaping the future admissions and induction process.
Please click here if you are interested in participating.

Bee Town Marlow - Whole school
Wild Marlow have over the last three years, been developing a campaign called 'Bee Town Marlow'. This focuses on helping the local community understand the importance of bees and other pollinators to the town's ecosystem. The campaign has resulted in Marlow being recognised as a Bee Town.
Thanks to sponsorship from Veolia, Wild Marlow have developed the campaign by giving a packet of wildflower seeds to every primary school child in Marlow. We will send every child home with a packet next week. They can sow them at home in the garden or a pot/planter. Wild Marlow will also be sowing seeds in local public urban spaces. The overall intent being to assist the creation of wildlife corridors across the town, linking the river and countryside.

No lip balm please - Whole school
Please can we ask that your child does not bring lip balm into school unless we have been informed your child needs it for medical reasons. If this is the case, this will need to be dropped at the office, a healthcare plan will need to be completed which will indicate the circumstances when the balm will need to be applied. The class teacher will then keep the balm in the classroom for the occasions when it needs applying.
