Welcome back to the second half of the spring term, I hope you had a restful break.
The parent consultations this week have given you the opportunity to find out how your children are progressing in their learning. Hopefully you found the meetings useful and that you have a good idea of your child's next steps and how to support them at home. Please do let me know if you have any queries about the information provided. I enjoyed seeing everyone in school for the consultations, it was a lovely atmosphere!
On Tuesday, Reverend Dave was in school to lead collective worship. He talked to the children about Shrove Tuesday and the beginning of Lent. There was great excitement when he started to cook a pancake for me because I was very hungry. The children learned about the importance of being patient and about Jesus' journey through the desert for 40 days without any food. The pancake was delicious by the way! If you want to find out about our school's collective worship programme, you can find details here.
We will be visiting All Saints this weekend for Sandygate Sunday, please do come along if you can. Details are below.

As a school we’re supporting the Once a Week, Take a Peek campaign aimed at helping parents spot, treat, and prevent the spread of head lice.
Head lice are a normal part of childhood and by checking for them regularly and using an appropriate treatment, they can be dealt with quickly and easily.
The guidance has been produced by Hedrin in association with the Medical Entomology Centre, a world-leading authority on head lice.
Download the step-by-step guide that tells you everything you need to know about checking for and treating head lice.

They should sit with their family during the service and the school staff in church will invite them up at the appropriate times. Please indicate below if you will attend the service. World Water Day – Whole school
This World Water Day is about accelerating change to solve the water and sanitation crisis. You and your family, school and community can make a difference by changing the way we use, consume and manage water in our lives. This is a once-in-a-generation moment for the world to unite around water.
On Friday 22nd March we would like to invite the children to come to school wearing something blue. We don't want you to buy anything special, so this could be blue socks, blue ribbons, blue jeans, blue leggings, blue shoes etc along with the rest of their school uniform. We kindly ask for no football kits to be worn.
In return, we are asking for a donation of £1 which should either be brought into school on the day or paid through JustGiving. The school councillors will be collecting the donations or the link to the World Water Day JustGiving page is here.

This year between 4th – 8th March, we have lots of events planned around World Book Day. Details of these are below:
- All week there will be a Virtual Book Fair for the children and parents to order books

- Every day during school worship, a different teacher will share their favourite book with the school
- On World Book Day itself (Thursday 7th March), we are inviting children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. The costume does not have to be elaborate or expensive and there are ideas for simple homemade costumes here.
