There has been a huge amount happening this week, and it all started on Sunday with the children from our school singing at the Marlow Regatta. It is great to see our pupils joining in with others from schools across the town and the weather was such a contrast to the previous day. My thanks go to Mrs Downing for preparing the children for the day and to her and Mrs Howarth for helping during the performance.
This week, we have started our Acts of Service with Year 2 visiting May Balfour Gardens and Year 1 entertaining some of our church and local community. It has been good to see children appreciating that service is about helping others without expecting a reward.
Excitingly, the Year 1 classes were able to speak to children from our link school in Kenya. Mrs Howarth organised a Zoom call with pupils at the Bright Future Academy and Ladybirds and Butterflies were thrilled to be able to sing to and ask questions of their counterparts in Kenya.
Our bat adoption was completed this week and because the Ladybird reading group raised so much money, we were able to adopt 3 bats, one for each year group. The Bat Conservation Society were so pleased that they sent 3 soft toy bats for us to keep in school.
Refugee Week has also been happening this week and today the Rights Respecting School Ambassors held their sale in aid of Marlow Refugee Action. We will share some photos with you on Monday.
Finally, our SIAMS inspection went well yesterday, and it was a good opportunity for us to share all the fantastic work we do at Marlow Infants. I would like to thank the staff for all their hard work preparing for the inspection and them, as well as the governors and parents who were involved in the day.
