No - it's not Friday! As we will be busy on our school trip to Kew Gardens tomorrow, we thought it would be a good idea to send the newsletter out today!
In school there has so much that has been going on this week, that it is impossible to list it all here and, alongside this, the children have still been consolidating some of this term's learning - there is a big stretch of the summer holidays ahead of them, so making sure that the knowledge they have learned is embedded is really important.
Of particular note this week are the awards that we have been notified about. We have completed assessments this term for the Rights Respecting School Gold Award, The Green Flag Award and the Modeshift Stars Silver Award. We have been hugely successful in all three assessments and the details are in the news stories below. Mrs Howarth and Mr Creese have worked hard to develop the Rights Respecting and Eco work respectively, working with their Ambassadors and Warriors to raise awareness amongst the school and the wider community. I would like to thank them for this work - they are incredible achievements.
Next week is Creative Week, and I am looking forward to seeing the children enjoying all the creative activities that the teachers have planned. Creative experiences help to build powerful connections in the brain and help young children to develop their focus and willingness to explore and question. Creative experiences also fuel the imagination and have a positive impact on spiritual development. There will be painting, dancing, drama and music across the year groups and many of the activities will be linked to the topic learning this half-term.
