Reception Act of Service
Reception Act of Service at All Saints church
This term all the children in school have been thinking about our school value of Service and each year group has undertaken an Act of Service in our local community. The aim is for the children to understand what service means in a practical way and the importance of doing things to help others without expecting a reward. All the children have also learned all about teamwork and taking action in the community as part of the Archbishop of York Leadership programme.
Today was the turn of Reception to complete their Act of Service.
This morning they walked to All Saints Church and spent several hours tidying and weeding in the churchyard.
They also took several dwarf sunflowers with them which they had planted in school. These are part of the sunflower project which we have undertaken for the second year to encourage pollinators and to help create a wildlife corridor across Marlow.
Rev Dave was on hand to greet the children along with the All Saints Bunny.
