Year 1 Seaside Day
Seaside Day for Year 1 - Wednesday 13th July
The Seaside Day was a wonderful Enrichment Day to finish off the work that Year 1 have been doing this term on looking at the Seaside nowadays and in the past.
The children spent the morning making a variety of traditional items including seashell decorated boxes, postcards and sandcastle flags and looking at Victorian money. Then in the afternoon they boarded a train to take them to the seaside where they got to spend their pennies at a choice of stalls on the pier. They were able to visit a tearoom, buy fish and chips, take a chance on a roll-a-penny game or have their fortunes told. They also tried out the photo booth, the bathing hut and built a sandcastle.
Their day was rounded off with a Punch & Judy show.
We would like to thank the parents who came in to help with the day and History off the Page for running an amazing experience.
