As Diwali was in half-term, the Reception children spent a whole afternoon this week learning all about the festival and it's origins. They read the book, 'Binny's Diwali' by Thrifty Umrigar and found out about some traditions and practices. The children enjoyed some Diwali yoga and made some 'diya' lamps from clay.  There were some wonderful Rangoli patterns created which required huge amounts of concentration. 

In school worship the next day, the whole school learned about Diwali and the Reception children were able to share some of their learning with all the older children!
