This half-term the Reception children have been learning about life on the continent of Africa and the animals that live in some African countries. Following on from the African dance the children learned for the Open Evening, they spent Wednesday morning learning how to communicate with drums. 

Justine and Malcolm from Hartbeats taught the children some West African percussion techniques and rhythms, they were really engaged by the workshop, and it definitely provided a fantastic finale for the topic and the term.
