As Diwali took place on the 31st October-1st of November, the Reception children spent a whole morning yesterday learning all about the festival and its origins. They read the book, 'Binny's Diwali' by Thrifty Umrigar and found out about some traditions and practices. The children enjoyed some Diwali yoga and made some 'diya' lamps from clay. There were some wonderful Rangoli patterns created which required huge amounts of concentration. 

Also, in school worship yesterday, the whole school learned about Diwali and the Year 1 and 2 children were able to share what they remembered about their previous learning about Diwali.
