Marlow Church of England Infant School

Safety Day

Safety Day for the whole school - Tuesday 26th November

As part of our Green Flag and School Travel Plan work, we held a Safety Day at school on Tuesday 26th of November.

During the day, all the children in the school participated in scooter sessions with a visiting scooter coach. Each class had a lesson where the children learned how to travel safely whilst riding a scooter, thinking especially about travelling near roads and across driveways. They worked on coordination and control, with a few fun tricks taught at the end too. The smiles on the children's faces were a joy to see, and the coach was particularly impressed with how well all the children listened and followed instructions.

In the morning, Mrs McGurran came into school and taught the children First Aid basics, such as dialling 999, identifying an emergency and the recovery position. The children were really interested and eager to learn.

The team from Saddle Safari started their day off by repairing some bikes at the front of school and then spent time in class during the morning with Year 1 and Year 2.

All children had a special PE lesson during the day which promoted the importance of exercise.

Thank you to all the visitors who gave up their time to make the day such a successful one and to Mr Creese and Mrs Downing for organising and coordinating all the activities.
