Advent Service 2024
Advent Service at All Saints Church - Tuesday 3rd December
On Tuesday, the school marked the beginning of Advent at All Saints Church.
The Year 2 Worship Leaders worked hard to prepare for the service, and did an excellent job leading it. There were reminders about taking time to reflect during the busy time leading up to Christmas, as well as an explanation about the symbolism behind the Advent Wreath:
The circle shape has no beginning or end, like God's love for us; the green leaves remind us of our hope in God. The 5 candles are lit, one each week during Advent and the final one on Christmas Day. Each candle has a special significance. The candle lit on the first Sunday in Advent is purple and reminds people that Jesus' birth was prophesied. The second candle is also purple, this one is the candle of peace. The third candle is pink and represents joy and the fourth candle is also purple and reminds people of the love that Jesus has for them.
The worship leaders admitted to feeling nervous and excited before the service started, but by the time they had finished they felt proud! The service was both informative and uplifting, with many parents mentioning how moved they felt during the service.
Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to walk with the children to and from the church.
