World Down Syndrome Day

World Down Syndrome Day - Friday 28th March

Today, we marked World Down Syndrome day in school (a week later than the official day).

Yesterday, the children were learning about Down Syndrome during school worship, and they learned how to sign 'Happy World Down Syndrome Day' in Makaton. Today we asked the children (and staff) to come to school wearing bright, colourful socks that will get noticed. We enjoyed seeing so many colourful combinations!

The idea is that people will ask them why they are wearing the socks, and they will be able to say 'I am wearing these socks to raise awareness for Down Syndrome!'
